Kia Ora, hello, 안녕하세요

My name is Milan, I was born in South Korea, grew up in Dunedin, and am now based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Currently, I am completing a Master of Design in Fashion Design at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), where I am also working as a Teaching Assistant for an Industry practice paper in the fashion department.

To me, fashion is art, a medium for expressing thoughts and ideas. My works so far represent a love for history, whether in the field of art, philosophy or psychology. These ideas or theories are narrated through my garments, aiming to tell a story or represent a curious way of thought / perception of reality.

My current focus is centred on deconstruction theories and design methods to counteract the wastefulness of denim.
